Picture notes | The inscription identifies the location as the house built by Elihu Vedder. MH's diary for 6 Sept 1931 has, "Miss Vedder's - lunch 12-45 Capri bot cotton wool 2 lira Lysol 13-50 Lunch at Quattro Venti (Torre) sketch". She went at the invitation of Maud Sherwood, another NZ painter. The inscription's reference to 1932 seems to be a mistake. |
