NZ Herald 2 Mar 1894, p6 [ASA] "? a water-colour study of a young lady in a reflective attitude, treated in a thoroughly masterly manner. We congratulate Wellington on possessing an artist of her artistic ability. The young lady is in Grecian costume, with roses in her hair. The colouring is very fine, the harmonies of colour being excellent. The bit of reflected light thrown from the drapery on to the neck is cleverly treated. The flesh tints and treatment of the hair are admirable." |
