| Picture notes | Jane Vial has identified this as a copy of a work in Te Papa, "1992-0035-1677 Race between the yachts "Pet" and "Red Jacket" for 50 pounds, March 13 1880 Forster, William, 1881?" The Pet belonged to MH's father, Charles Hill. The inscription below the painting says, "The 'Pet' rounding the Buoy Boat 3 minutes ahead of the 'Red Jacket' and finally by 30 minutes". | ||||
